ALLICIA HERON - WARRIORESS OF REMARKABLE TENACITY

Allicia Heron - Warrioress of Remarkable Tenacity that I personally witnessed as I watched on in awe one long chilly night in Canberra at the invitational 24 hour track race for Australia's elite ultra runners. Allicia ran an incredible 225kms that day & with what I discerned as supreme grace, strength, composure & focus, all the qualities of a Warrioress in her highest power.

Allicia is a full time working mother of two daughters & has been known to possess a natural tenacity, showcasing remarkable diligence & motivating those around her to achieve results.

Allicia says, "I'm not very good at sitting still & have been like this pretty much my whole life. I was always a sporty kid growing up. I used to be a sprinter but I am lucky enough to have been able to change my muscle twitch fibres to allow me to run longer distances."

Here are Allicia's awesome answers to the Warrioress Q & A ...

1) Motivations: What makes you strive & thrive? What gets you out of bed in the morning?

My greatest motivation is to become the very best version of myself in all aspects of my life. I'm completed addicted to challenging myself and seeing what I'm capable of. I strive to find my absolute limits and I thrive when I'm testing them.

The thing that gets me out of bed in the morning is my dog Jack ha ha. Jack and I always head out for a morning walk and this is a great way to start my day.

2) Inspirations: What / who / where inspires you? What influences your actions/life?

I'm inspired by other incredible warrioress athletes like Nikki and Lou. We're lucky, in Australia we have so many awesome female athletes, it's hard to keep up with them all!!

My girls inspire me as well. Beth and Chloe, my daughters, are both incredible athletes and I love watching them play AFL.

I'm influenced by my friends and family. My dad was a huge part of why I joined the Navy to serve my country as I wanted to follow in his footsteps.

3) Self care: What rituals / routines / practices / training do you use to nurture / strengthen your self?

Nutrition is extremely important to me. Whenever I'm preparing food, I ask myself, "Where's the green?" Healthy, home cooked food is a passion for me and it's an important part of my daily routines and rituals.

As a runner, I also train every day and cross train with strength training and plenty of walking.I love walking in nature and find this helps me reset my body, brain and spirit. I go out with questions and come back with answers.

4) Self belief: What do you believe about yourself? How does that affect what you do?

I believe I am strong, powerful and ininfitely capable. I can achieve whatever I sent my mind to. I believe, you have to do what you have to do, to get done, what you want to get done! We are all much more capable than we realise and I never try to limit my goals and dreams.

5) Warrioress: your favourite style from the range & why?

I love the skort. It's stylish and comfortable and one of my favourite go to's for race day. I also like that it's functional but also feminine and I think this mirrors my personality. I'm tough but I'm fancy too!
