JENNAH-LOUISE SALKELD - WARRIORESS OF INTRIGUE & EXPLORATION

Jennah-Louise Salkeld - Warrioress of Intrigue & Exploration...
Jennah-Louise is a Sydney-based entrepreneur, who is a Law and Politics & International Relations graduate turned Mindset Coach to high achievers and Human Connection Specialist where she facilitates vulnerable conversations for deeper connection.
She is the host of the To Be Human podcast which focuses on humanising high performers to inspire the listener to expand the reach of their own potential.
Jennah- Louise has travelled to almost 50 countries and has lived in 6, including working with women's groups and education in Kenya, Tunisia and Turkey.
& how I came to meet this wonderful human, she is an endurance athlete having run both multistage and single stage ultramarathons across deserts and amongst the mountains.
We have shared many a sacred kilometre together, immersed deep in nature, deep in conversation, she is a wondrous & curious soul to adventure with. Our runs out on the trails are some of my most treasured times, she inspires me to be more inquisitive & I knew she would have intriguing pearls to share, so here you are, Jennah's Warrioress wisdom.
1) Motivations: What makes you strive & thrive? What gets you out of bed in the morning?
I'm the kind of person who goes to bed excited for the following day; so what gets me out of bed is the excitement of new opportunity, of pure possibility. Life is such a gift and I really try to lean into the idea that it is a miracle I am here, to go as far to say I am, you are, a miracle.
I love the beauty that life has to offer, whether it be my own self-exploration, my own remembrance, or connection with another person, life itself and the greater universe. I am passionate about making the most of my time here through creation and contribution; I am passionate about making an impact for generations to come.

I came across a writing by Azrya Bequer recently that truly sums it all up:
"To leave a legacy that my grandchildren will speak of with awe and wonder; feeling the warm echoes of my vibrant soul still surrounding them long after I have gone."
2) Inspirations: What / who / where inspires you? What influences your actions/life?
People who are willing to do the hard yet rewarding work of self-exploration and by virtue of this expanding the reach of their own potential which influences the lives of others.
I am all about setting an example and hold close to me those that have influenced my life. Oprah Winfrey, Brene Brown, Marina Abramović, Siri Lindley. These vulnerable and courageous women who show up and be seen; completely exposed with the message, 'I am enough'.

One of my favourite quotes is by Oprah Winfrey:
"Vulnerability is being willing to express the truth no matter what. The truth of who you are, the essence at your core of what you are feeling in any given moment. It is being able to open up your soul and let it flow, so other people can see their soul in yours."

3) Self care: What rituals / routines / practices / training do you use to nurture / strengthen your self?
In the morning I wake up and drink 750ml of water, focusing on my breathing and the present moment, have a quick dip in the cold plunge, all before looking at my phone.
Throughout the day I focus on exploring my understanding of life and my relationship to it through some of the world's greatest teachers, all whilst listening to my own needs; when feelings arise, I do not suppress them but feel into them, listening to the wisdom that arises so I can continue to integrate and let go of my limitations.
I ensure I get my bare feet on the ground for at least 10 minutes (without my phone) and have a sauna at least 2 x per week. Essentially, I focus on internal freedom; whatever that may look like for that day.

One of my all time favourite quotes by Peter Crone:
"Life will present people and circumstances to reveal where you are not free."

4) Self-belief: What do you believe about yourself? How does that affect what you do?
I believe that I am a co-creator; that I co-create with the universe. I take action on what I want to, and open myself up to life's beautiful synchronicities, working with them in partnership; relationship. I believe every moment is full of possibility, and therefore live from this state, in believing that the frequency in which I embody will certainly be what I attract.
I believe I am powerful and that I am an extraordinary human being. I believe I am enough, and I am worthy of love and belonging. I believe I do and will continue to have a positive impact on this world, just like those before me.

Quote by Maya Angelou:
"I may be one, but I come as 10,000."

5) Warrioress: your favourite style from the range & why?
I love the desert nature print, Leigh & I met running across the desert from Alice Springs to Uluru & that journey was the source of inspiration for this print which makes it meaningful. I also love the short short, perfect for Gold Coast beach running!
